If you love the prior games you will hate this one. The fundamental characteristics of the bike to those of who ride is terrible, to the point of disgust. You cant try to ride like you do real world, everything feels off and goes against all inherent skill and knowledge. The prior games had flaws but at the core if you ride you could enjoy the games using that knowledge. Also the music is not the priors quality or standard with no ability to skip the near endless emo screaming that 90% of this games soundtrack unfortunately is, again unlike games past. Bright side, the graphics are better, not outstanding but an improvement. First person isnt choppy and makes you nearly crash every turn like priors.2 strokes made mx racing 2 and 4 wheeled. The lack of their inclusion in the base games says one of two things. The devs are uninformed, uninterested, or uneducated on mx or riding as a whole. Or they knew us 2 smoke lovers would pay extra for one as a money grab. Disappointing

The MX series has seen a decline in recent years and I think that’s mainly down to the games having the same problems time and time again. MXThe MX series has seen a decline in recent years and I think that’s mainly down to the games having the same problems time and time again. MX vs ATV All Out is the new MX game in the market and whilst it does still have a few niggling problems I did notice some improvements and in the end it provided me with more enjoyment than frustration and hopefully they carry on getting more things right than they get wrong. Racing in the game feels great and most important of all it’s fun and exciting. They’ve managed to get most of the bike physics spot on and they’ve done a great job of giving the physics an arcade feel whilst also retaining a realistic edge to them as well. They don’t however get all the racing aspects correct and I especially found that to be the case when it came to the crashes and bike collisions. These aspects feel quite unrealistic and most of the time they just have an awkward side to them which can ruin the immersion levels somewhat. In terms of tracks the game has a decent amount for you to be getting on with and the best thing is that each track has quite a lot of variety and this definitely keeps things fresher for longer. I was also very impressed with the amount of customisation that’s present in the game and being able to give your bike some personal treatment is a nice touch because you can chop and change to your heart’s content. If you like game’s that offer you plenty of modes then this game has you covered. Unfortunately though not all of them are good and I especially found this to be the case when trying to play a game online. It took me a great deal of time to get a game online most of the time and when I did finally manage to get a game it became tedious quite quickly, which is a shame. The presentation side of the game ticked quite a few boxes for me and I found it to be pretty decent. Visually the game looks quite nice at times and there is plenty of detail in the environments. The sound design is also not bad either and it does more than enough to keep you satisfied, which is great. At the end of the day despite the technichal issues it suffers with now and again I actually found MX vs ATV All Out to be a pretty enjoyable affair. Don’t get me wrong it’s far from being perfect but I think this new addition to the MX series is a step in the right direction and if you’re a fan of the MX games then you will find more than enough here to scratch your itch.…Full Review »
